The One With the Celtics vs. Kings

 

 

This Friday, we went as a family to the Celtics game. It was a Christmas gift from Emmie for all of us.

Now, truth be told, the Celtics have been a little flat this season. They actually were returning home from a 3-1 west coast road trip. They had looked good, so I was hoping they would be. But, they came out looking awful against the Kings...and got blown out. They were so bad, they were booed...and they deserved it.

While the game was atrocious, the actual experience was not. We started the evening off eating at the Harp. They had redone it since I had last been in. The food was great and there was definitely a Celtics crowd.

We had some amazing seats as well. They came complete with posters. But, perhaps even cooler, was we were right near where Eddie House sits. Soooo cool. And, they actual hosted some of the fan fest activities from there, during the game. In fact, one of the people from our row was called to "follow the ball" game.

After half time, I had an amazing surprise. While waiting to return to our seats - we now have to wait until a break in the action - I turned around and saw one of my students, named Luke, and a friend from school. He was totally shocked, as was I. And, because he is a BIG BU fan, I could not help but point of the BC banner hanging from the rafters.

All an all, it was a great memory from a horrible game.

The One With Kiff's Championship Game

 

 

Kiff was in another Championship Game this year. This one was for his basketball team - the Earthquake. And was it a good game. 

 

Kiff played solid defense and his team was neck-in-neck with the opponents through the first half. During the second half, the opponents pulled away. However, Kiff's team still had life in them. In fact, Kiff made a shot with 8 seconds left to get his team within a point. They quickly got the ball back and had a chance to win at the buzzer....but the shot did not go in.

It was an amazing game and yet another amazing championship game!

The One With Kiff's Playoff Game

 

 

Yesterday, Kiff had a playoff game. I had to miss it (more on that in a different blurb) for Bri's banquet.

 

But from what I heard, he had a phenomenal game. He had 8 pts, a few steals, played good defense, and passed the ball well. More importantly, his team won 36 - 28. Onto the championship game!!!

 

 

 

The One Where Kif Scores the First Two Points of the Season

 

 

Kif took part in another annual basketball season today. This year, he is one of the oldest students in the league and it showed at the beginning. He was intense, played strong defense, and even scored the first two points of the season for his team.

 

As the game went on, it was clear the teams were mismatched, so they toned down slightly. As a result, he backed off coverage and even told an opponent he could still dribble...which was nice.

 

In the end, they won handily. It was a strong beginning to the season.

The One With Kiff's Basketball Game

Kiff had his second basketball game of the winter season. So far, so good.

This season has been more competitive than the last, which is fun. It also involves an older age bracket, which adds to the challenge.

Still, Kiff played a good game yesterday. He scored a basket, got a steal, and played solid defense. His team won by four points.

The only drawback is he had his earrings on and had to take them out during the game. Always fun.
