The One With the Fireworks

Tonight, Danvers hosted its second annual triumphant return of the fireworks (the image above is from the ones from last year in Danvers). Normally, we would have rushed to see it (in fact, Bri did). However, Kiff was making his way over to fireworks held in Beverly, to enjoy him with a former preschool friend that he has reconnected with. So, we dropped him off at Lynch Park, Emmie did a few errands, than we went back to pick him up. Fortunately, we got there early enough to watch the end of the fireworks show. It was actually pretty great. And, it turns out that this is a perfect place to watch them, too!!!

The One With the Fireworks

Every year for the past several years, we try to see the Gloucester Fireworks. Traditionally, they are held the night before the fourth and are one of the best displays in the region.

This year was no exception. We went to Stage Fort Park in Gloucester and were mesmerized by the spectacular display. The fireworks were incredible. This year, they did feature food trucks, which actually made the sky brighter than normal....but that was not a problem.

The pyrotechnics themselves were splendid and captured an array of styles....and included three finales (we actually missed the final finale, thinking it had already happened). The only hiccup was one of the fireworks went low to the ground....though still out in the harbor, which seemed to be fine.

Parking was not as bad as usual, and they opened up a side gate on the grass lot, which helped immensely.

The One With the Gloucester Fireworks

Earlier tonight, we headed over to the Gloucester Fireworks. We had learned last year that this display was one of the  most epic that we had ever seen - Disney excluded. So,we decided to go back and check them out again. And it did not disappoint.

The air was warm, with a slight breeze. which made it fun to watch. The display itself was extraordinary. There were several mini-conclusions with multiple explosions in them. And, there were a few drones that added some extra drama as they ventured closed to the explosions. Along with that, there were a few fireworks that did exploded low in the sky and drifted to the ground, which added heightened intensity. But, overall, it was an AWESOME show.

We did sit closer to the ocean this time than last year (where we were on top of the hill). While the hill goers get to see the fireworks right above them, I think we sat in a particularly good place where we could watch them explode in front of us instead of over us. Definitely something to do again.

A couple of things we learned:

1. Make sure to bring insect spray.

2. Make sure not to park in the lot...instead, park along the road heading out (which is where we parked last year). It makes it easier to get out.

3. Watch where Google Maps takes you...we went a wacky way out down a dark road with few street lights. But, it made for an interesting memory.

 Overall, another great fireworks display!!!

Summer Vacation Day Seventeen: The One With Fireworks in Gloucester

The highlight of this Monday was going to Gloucester to see their fireworks. They had been reschedule from the 3rd of July because of rain. So they were postponed until today - July 5th. It was sort of like a second Fourth of July.

We actually went to Stage Harbor park. We had a great view (although a car horn kept going off). We also saw drones try to fly through the fireworks - always a bad idea! But it was a great show!

By the way, earlier in the day, we redid the porch. It looks great!
