On Monday, Kiff became an official member of the Danvers High School National English Honor Society. He was being not only inducted as a member, but an officer...as he is the incoming vice president of the society.
We attended the meeting with him. It was neat ceremony with some speeches, an overview of the society, officer induction, a pledge, and some comments.
It was a lot of fun to watch and it was great to see Kiff become part of his third high school honor society.
On December 8, DHS Music Department hosted the annual Tri M honor society inductions. Similar to Bri two years ago, Kiff got inducted into the honor society for his music abilities.
As part of the induction, Kiff actually had a role in the opening ceremony. He applied to be an officer and was given the role of historian, which had been vacated by Bri when she left last year. So, it was cool to see the legacy pass from one sibling to another.
Kiff opted to perform a solo as part of his ceremony, which was great. There were light refreshments served, which was also cool. But the whole night was a treat and a wonderful celebration of the talent in the DHS community.
Bri's Honor Society extravangza continued with her induction in the National English honor society. There was a cool reception at DHS where she became an official member with several other students we have gotten to know over the years. The experience was cool because it does help highlight how good she is at ELA.
What was funny about this is that Bri was actually invited to join last year, but declined, thinking it was extra work. As a result, it was mainly sophomores who were inducted...but there were a handful of juniors as well.
It was a quick ceremony - those are always fun - but it marked the first honor society that Bri literally shared with one of her parents. Emmie was inducted into the Spanish version of the society when she was in high school. Very cool!!!
The honor society is dedicated to students who excel in the music realm and hope to share their love of music with others. Bri got in for her grades, but also her ability in concert and marching band.
As part of the induction, students have to perform. Bri performed a color guard routine I Aint Worried by One Republic. It was an amazing performance.
What was just as neat was seeing other people that Bri has known and grown up with over the years get inducted as well. It is amazing to see how far they come.
After, we went to Cherry Hill to celebrate. Though there were not too many people there, Bri and Kiff knew all of the people ordering at the three other windows...which was wild!
Congrats to Bri on being inducted into her first High School Honor Society.
