Yesterday our 8th grade hosted the first ever Winter Carnival at KMS. It was a series of fun and spirited events for the 8th graders to participate in - much like the annual Field Day we have. It consisted of points earned through spirit contests, door decorating, sled races, a penguin launch, hungry hippos, trivia contest, and a lip sync/dance contest.
The day ended up being spectacular! It was even more amazing than I expected, particularly for a day before February vacation. And, of course, knowing me, I was ultra competitive about it.
At the end of the day, it turned out we one a variety of awards from creativity, spirit, as well as placing first and second in the trivia contest. What a showing! As a result, we won the first ever Kennedy Winter Carnival!!!
Amazing...now all we need to do is find a suitable trophy to pass along, much like the Troll Trophy.
