The One With The Almost Win in the Superbowl

Kiff played in I believe his 6th flag football Superbowl this past Friday. And it was epic!!!

His team - the Avalanche  - were playing against a team stacked with some of his friends. In fact, there was a 7th grade rivalry between the two teams and they were looking forward to battling each other.

It was a nip and tuck game. Although it did not start that way Kiff's team threw a pick-6 to start the game and were down. However, they battled back with some great defense. In fact, Kiff almost caused a safety when he sacked the quarterback.

It was an awesome game. Kiff's team had the lead 25-30 with under 1 minute left. In fact, they were still  ahead with 8 seconds left. But a last second touchdown by the earthquake with 1 second left sealed their fate in the greatest flag football superbowl game I have ever seen.

What a game!!!

The One With Four Games in One Day and a Superbowl Win

Today, was quite a day. It was the day that we had an epic series of events. It started with the Brown Family recital, which we left for at 11:30.

After that, we had a marathon race that included the following:

3:00 Kiff had a playoff game, where, unfortunately, the Reds suffered a 10-1 loss.

6:00 Bri had a playoff game against the best team. Her team, young, with only two wins, won 20 - 6.

7:15 We had to split shift so Kiff could go to flag football for a playoff game. His team one game one in a nailbiter 34 to 30.

8:15 Following that game Kiff ended up in the Superbowl. His team won the game. It was his fourth superbowl visit and second win!

An amazing day. We topped it off by going to the Roadhouse for supper. It is now exactly 12 hours since we began the day (11:30 PM). Wow!

The One With Superbowl Satuday

Today, we were able to enjoy a unique event in our family. Kiff has his first ever flag football Super Bowl game.

It was a blast.

His team was the Cowboys and they has a 4-2 record and finished in second place. The faced the Skins - a tough team - and got down quickly, but came roaring back fast.

In the end, they came in as runners-up...but it was an awesome game.

The One Where the Patriots Win

Yesterday was simply amazing.

It was the first time that - as a family - we could truly enjoy the Super Bowl. Bri and Kiff have learned a lot about football this year and they understood - and enjoyed - the Patriot games.

They knew that the Super Bowl was a great game, but there were a lot of elements to it, including the commercials and the half time show.

And this year the kids were excited to watch....and they were able to stay up for the first half.

They made decorations at school and at home...we hung them during the game. Bri put on the Kitty Bowl as her own pre game show.

We had some super snacks made by Emmie. We watched the pregame show and played some shnazzy music!

We watched the first half and cheered the two touchdowns by the Patriots. We even watched Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, and Missy...

It was time for bed....but they were still excited, wearing their Patriots gear as they headed upstairs. They thoroughly enjoyed their first true Super Bowl viewing experience.

Of course, they did miss out on the epic Patriots comeback and the interception for the win with 18 seconds left.

But it truly was a memorable Super Bowl. Congratulations to the Patriots on ring number 4. It was truly a memorable day for us!!!

Thanks so much! Go PATS!
