The One With 2026

Today is the first day of 2026....who knows what it will have in store, but I am hoping it is amazing.

We actually took down our tree today (which is a little early for us). We all seem to have developed an allergy to it, and Emmie was totally wiped out by it. She needed some antibiotics for her sinuses.

We did have a dusting of snow overnight, which was nice. Emmie and I watched Family Plan 2 and From Russia With Love to ring in the new year....though she felt lousy. She just took off to go see the final episode of STRANGER THINGS in the movies with Kiff, Adrian, and Adrian's mother

Here is wishing everyone an amazing 2026.

The One With the New Years Eve TV Episodes

To celebrate New Years Eve, we watched several New Years Eve TV Episodes, that center around New Years Eve. These include:

Friends with the Dance - This is the one where Monica and Ross dance on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve.

Friends with the Resolutions - This is the one where Ross wears leather pants and Rachel finds out about Chandler and Monica.

Mad About You New Year's Eve  - Where Paul films the final time the ball is lowered by people in NYC.

The One With New Years Eve 2024

New Years Eve 2024 has arrived. It is hard to believe an whole year has gone by. But, what a year it has been. Thank you, God, for the amazing year. Here is just a sample of what happened:

1. We took our first family trip (and second one, too) to New York City. We stayed in Times Square. We had just put on New Years Rockin Eve a short time ago and saw some of the places we went to when we were there. Very surreal!!!

2. Bri made three more honor societies and belongs to a total of four. She became an officer in two.

3. Chiff became a section leader.

4. Bri got her license!

5. Chiff went to film-making camp.

6. Bri was a marshall at the DHS Graduation based on her grades and class rank.

7. Chiff got his learner's permit.

8. Bri got into college.

9. We took a family trip to Prince Edward Island. Emmie had the best cup of latte ever there.

10. Emmie passed her Humanities Test!

Here's wishing and praying that 2025 is even better!

The One With The New Year's Eve Game f Life

This New Year's Eve we started a new tradition....though a little reluctantly. At Bri's suggestion, we decided to play the game of Life.

It was long - as usual - and it involved lots of spinning. But, we had a blast.

Bri ended 2018 by coming in first with 4.25 million

Mom came is second with 3.75 million

I was third with 3.02 million

Kiff came in fourth at 2.7 million.

It was definitely a fun way to wrap up the year. Thanks 2018 for being a great year!

The One With New Year's Eve

Happy New Year's Eve.  2017 turned out to be a great year and we're looking forward to ringing in 2018 in a few hours.

We ended the year with a nice overnighter to Sturbridge. Once there, we were able to enjoy something that we had never had the chance to do - Christmas by Candlelight at the Village. It was great! Definitely a first rate experience and one with a ton of fun. The night started off chilly and bleak, with some snow. While we were there, the snow ended, the temperature dropped, but the memories kept piling up. From a visit to Bob Crachit's house, to going through the Towne House and seeing a 1830s, 1850s, and 1870s New England Christmas, we had a blast. We also had out own personal serenade from a caroling quartet. It was perfect!

It proved to be a fun holiday season, that included:

Christmas by Candlelight
Winter Walk at Ipswich sanctuary
Enchanted Village
Several movie nights where we watched Christmas movies together
Seeing "The Man Who Invented Christmas" (which was the perfect way to start the season)

Here is wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

The One With The Happy New Year

Today is New Year's Eve.

2016 was a memorable year. It had:

• The Trump election
• Massachusetts legalizing marijuana
• The retirement of David Ortiz
• The ridiculous suspension of Tom Brady
• The ability of the Celtics to lure a top free agent - Al Horford
• The untimely death of stars such as Prince, George Michael, Alan Thicke, Carrie Fisher
• The Rio Olympics and drama around it
• The release of a Star Wars movie that is not truly part of the main story line

We also saw the passing of Molly - very sad!

What a year.

Here's wishing everyone a happy new year.
